- First things first, we will work to not only improve your confidence in public speaking, but we will help you be more effective at public speaking while still letting the “you” shine through!
- We strongly believe that in order for members to gain confidence in public speaking, members have to trust each other. At Demosthenes, we prioritize our members’ wellbeing. It is our goal to create such a supportive network that Demosthenes members are some of the first people you can reach out to for help!
- We will work hard to get your story as far out as you want it! If you have a story or a passion, we will help get you an audience!
- We will provide you with leadership opportunities to grow! We let Demosthenes be what you can make of it
Intrinsic reasons:
- Gaining greater confidence in public speaking can help you focus on being excited about presenting what your passionate about, instead of dreading the speaking part. Maybe you end up being excited about the prospects of interviews and presentations overall!
- You can become a part of a network of friends!
Extrinsic reasons:
- Just about every job wants its applicants to have great communication skills. It is our goal for Demosthenes members to be some of the most well-spoken students around. There is no better way to blow employers’ socks off than sending in a portfolio of you effectively presenting something your passionate about to a large audience.
- You can crush interviews, negotiations, presentations, and everything in between!
